''Bishop John Carroll'' is a bronze statue by Jerome Connor commemorating John Carroll, the founder of Georgetown University.〔("Bishop John Carroll, (sculpture)" ). ''SIRIS''〕 It is located on Georgetown's campus in Georgetown in Northwest Washington, D.C., between Healy Hall and the university's front gate at the intersection of O Street Northwest, and 37th Street Northwest.
The statue was unveiled on 4 May 1912.〔("TO GEORGETOWN'S FOUNDER.; Statue to Father Carroll Unveiled by Men High in Church and State" ), ''The New York Times'', May 5, 1912〕
One tradition that has arisen is for Georgetown students to sit in the lap of ''Bishop John Carroll''.
